Description (anglais) : Murphy Lecture leads to riot in Ashton. Irish and their homes attacked by English mob. Breaking into houses armed with sticks hatchets etc. Beating people, smashing furniture and burning it in the houses. Throwing stuff into the courts. Attacked house, Chapel and school (in broad daylight). Tit for tat retaliatory attacks (Irish setting traps). Next day crowd fight and march to Stalybridge and spread riot there.
