Description (anglais) : During spring 1847, ‘rioters plundered bakers' shops and had begun to chop down the Town Hall when troops arrived‘. After some negotiations, the sheriff read the Riot Act, and ordered the troops to load and form, and seized 14 men. Three riots were condemned to two years of hard labour and eighteen other between three and twelve months.
